Valuing Vulnerable People
A Unique Children’s Charity
Serving South Shields, Tyne and Wear, and the North East
What We Do
Welcome to New Hope North East
Based in South Shields, New Hope North East is a registered children’s charity organisation. We are committed to supporting disabled children and young people from different ethnic minority backgrounds, including asylum seekers and their families. Working throughout Tyne and Wear and the North East since 2016, we are unique in the local area and we strive to break down barriers that keep children and young people with disabilities from accessing social, educational, economic, health, and wellbeing provisions. Why We Do It
The team at New Hope North East believes that every person should be loved, valued, kept safe and treated with dignity and respect. We recognise that finding spaces to thrive can be difficult for families with disabled children and young people, especially for those from ethnic minority backgrounds.
What’s more, we understand that disability is a community issue, not just an individual challenge, which is why we include the whole family in all of our activities. We know that disabled people and their families, especially those from ethnic minorities, have had their voices drowned out for many years, which is why we make inclusion a key part of our process.
